@JTAlexander Lawyer to lawyer, wouldn’t lawyers just hold the state to its actual burden of proof? Or are lawyers generally even more likely than non lawyers to say “I won’t convict without dna evidence!” and such because of TV.
@TheCatholicEngr If a healthy baby is born they’re probably less at risk for a lawsuit about failure to safely manage the birth.
That and some docs are just evil. Like every profession.
@HollyCabot Oh yeah. Even if I could retire right now I’d still be a lawyer. I’d just change my practice to one that helps people without means rather than working for big corporations.
@WB_Baskerville I am probably gonna head back from the role I interviewed for last week. It could be great for my career and family. I’ll pray for you. Pray for me?
@HollyCabot Lawyer. If I can retire early, I can help my community in ways I can’t now. I could do low cost or pro bono legal work for those who can’t usually afford it.
@OVTweetmarck Maybe he means it’s outdated in the sense that, while theoretically possible, it just war won’t exist in reality and as such the theory is outdated tool for moral analysis? I haven’t read the encyclical but that seems like the simplest way to combine the statements cohesively.
@OVTweetmarck@mouthofgeraldo@WB_Baskerville No I don’t think Butcher is gay. This could arguably be a callback to Homelander’s sexual abuse of others with an attitude of “this is what I’d demand if I was in the position of power here” but it seems too crass in my view. I didn’t watch the finale but it seems grating.
