How to Negotiate price! (Without loosing the client) ✍️

1. Prep is everything: (I lost a $3-5k client when I didn’t understand this, and got a $3k client when I did. See attached) if you undercharge a value focused prospect, you loose them. Same thing happens when you overcharge a money focused prospect. Point is, know as much as you can about the company before charging.

2. You’ve heard this before, but Lead with value, not price. Before you get to pricing, if you can communicate your value/solutions to his needs effectively, you already done 70% of the closing. (So no 1 again)

3. Do NOT justify your rates: if they didn’t respond initially, fine. What you could do, is offer a discount for a retainer. “This is the cost, but if you need the services for a longer period, we’ve been offering discounts for long term partners” also provide package options so they could go for a package that suits their budget. If they go low, politely reject them.

4. Understand the lowest you can go: factor in how much it’ll cost you to get someone else to do it, and still keep a reasonable percentage. If it doesn’t cover acquisition costs and costs of someone else handling it, you’re probably charging too low.

Bonus tip: always control the negotiation, communicate value and solutions, aim for high pricing, it gives and have a hinted air of nonchalance while still maintaining value. It’s helped me so many times.
