Mark Halstead, with Shrewsbury from 2014-17, signs for Colwyn Bay. Jayson Leutwiler's consistency restricted his opportunities, but had some good games for #salop, including saving a Billy Sharp penalty when Town, reduced to nine men in first half, lost 2-1 at Sheffield United.
✍️ We're delighted to confirm the signing of goalkeeper Mark Halstead!
He arrives with experience in the English pyramid following notable spells with Blackpool, Shrewsbury and Morecambe.
Former Shrewsbury captain Ollie Norburn, having helped Notts County to promotion via the League Two play-offs this season, joins Micky Mellon's Oldham Athletic. Good signing for them.
@daleskitt@Shrews_zone At the time he moved to Newcastle, the story on STFC website referred to "the deal also including a sizeable sell-on clause and add-ons", while this article from the Star from September 2023 referenced "a 20 per cent sell-on fee."

An impressive eight-wicket victory for @shropshireccc in the second @NCCA_uk Twenty20 match here at @WemCricketClub today.
Visitors @StaffsCCC had earlier won the opener, so honours ended even.
Good to see a decent crowd watching, with the day well hosted by Wem.
🚨 Josh Ruffels to stay 🚨
He made 32 appearances last season
🗣️ “Josh has been sought after, but what’s really flattering is that he’s seen the way we’ve worked since coming in" - Manager, Gavin Cowan

One final football away day of the season with youngest son to Nottingham Forest against Bournemouth. A first visit to City Ground since League Cup trip with Shrewsbury in 2017 - Shaun Whalley and Jason Cummings both on scoresheet that night. It was much, much warmer yesterday!
Welcome news. Brings some stability after a number of managerial changes in recent years. Opportunity for Gavin Cowan + assistants Jamie Haynes and Dave Edwards to build on encouraging start. Note the change of title too with #salop back to having a manager instead of head coach.
🚨 BREAKING 🚨

Enjoyable night hosting An Evening with Darren Gough at the Croud Meadow. A lot of fun. He shared so many great stories, from taking an Ashes hat-trick in Sydney to winning Strictly Come Dancing, and lots more, with the event helping to raise funds for @FoundationSTFC 🏏
Not quite to be for Shrewsbury's U18s tonight as Wimbledon won Youth Alliance League National final 2-0 in front of a crowd of 798. It's been an outstanding season for #salop's U18s, winning club's first Youth Alliance League title. Congrats to all involved in successful campaign
A good crowd making their way into the Meadow for tonight's Youth Alliance League National final between Shrewsbury and Wimbledon.
It's a match between two under-18s teams who have both enjoyed excellent seasons.
Great trip to Brighton yesterday. Saw Shrewsbury play the Seagulls at Goldstone Ground, Withdean Stadium and also when they played home games at Gillingham, but first visit to the Amex Stadium. Lovely warm day, nice ground and a comfortable win for Brighton over Wolves. 91/92.
@martinberry17@daleskitt Yes, Martin, Tottenham of the current 92. With York City's new stadium also to follow now next season after their promotion (went to their old Bootham Crescent ground a few times, but not visited new one yet).
Shrewsbury Town can now confirm the club’s retained and released list following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season 📝
We'd like to place on record our sincere thanks to all departing players for their hard work and commitment during their time at the club. They all leave with our very best wishes for the future 💙
