A beautiful gesture by @kaseypalmer45, who spent time with Kayden after the Stockport game recently and today visited him at home with the trainers he promised.

We’re all so looking forward to seeing Kayden in his new Jordans as he leads the lads out at Wembley on Sunday! 🙏

Kasey Palmer has surprised Kayden with a special visit ahead of this weekend’s Vertu Trophy Final, bringing a smile to his face with the gift of a pair of his favourite trainers to support his ongoing rehabilitation.

He has become a well-recognised and much-loved face among the lads since first meeting him at @KeechHospice before Christmas, with the squad showing their support along the way.

Twelve-year-old Kayden suffered a stroke during surgery to remove a brain tumour, and his resilience has been nothing short of inspiring.

We’re delighted that he’ll be joining us at Wembley on Sunday as our mascot 👒🧡.

So proud of @liamwalsh_6 for the way in which he spoke on behalf of himself and Missy Bo. Inside every footballer there is a human being, and we don’t know what they are dealing with in their personal lives. So much respect for @JackWilshere for his protection of Walshy too 🧡

Congratulations to our U18s who wrapped up their league title last night, with a resounding 7-0 win away to Baldock U18s 💙

Our goals came from Ernie (x2), Ezinna, Ugonna (x3 🎩🪄) and Endricht ⚽

What a way to secure the title, congratulations lads 👏

@henrywinter One of the game’s good guys, Henry. Interviewed him many times for @NonLeaguePaper & @TheLeaguePaper. Sat next to him on a train journey home from York when we’d randomly booked adjoining seats. Lovely bloke and an inspiration to anyone who has suffered with their mental health.

Meeting Kayden and his family @KeechHospice was inspirational. We can’t wait to welcome him to a game in the New Year when he’s through his treatment.

Today Kayden had his final chemotherapy treatment.

Kayden suffered a stroke during his third operation to remove a tumour on his brain, which left him with right-side paralysis and registered blind. He goes to Keech Hospice for physio and music therapy every Wednesday and is gradually improving.

The end of a long transfer deadline day that kicked off with a 5k run before 7am.
