Nike’s aim is to make waves and make money and they’ve done that successfully with “playful” desecration of the Cross of St George on the home shirt. That’s what Nike do. @FA far guiltier. They should have principles. They’re supposed to respect England. But they didn’t consult Gareth Southgate or the #ENG players. They just signed the design off because they want the Nike dough.
They also don’t really care about kids; £119.99 for the shirt that kids crave is just greed. That excessive sum should have been fought during negotiations with Nike. That’s the bigger scandal in all this tbh.
FA ceo Mark Bullingham needs a long, hard look at himself and his organisation. Many good people work there but FA lack proper direction. One reason the independent regulator is coming in is because the FA is too weak to tackle financial issues in the leagues and too scared to stand up to certain owners. Grow some cojones. Find some principles.
The referral of @LCFC for an alleged breach of profitability and sustainability rules has been met with anger and disbelief by fans.
We’ve seen what this meant for Forest & Everton.
Fans worry this process is opaque.
Today I’ve written to @premierleague demanding answers. 🦊
