Hip hop survived actual violence, blackballing, censorship, labels exploiting artists, radio payola, and artists getting killed over records.
A lawsuit about corporate promotion and defamation standards isnβt gonna destroy the genre lol. If anything, it forces labels to be more careful, not rappers less creative.
The issue is a label allegedly choosing to heavily promote a song calling someone a pedophile. Thatβs completely different from βhip hop being under attack.β If a corporation knowingly amplifies potentially defamatory accusations for profit, why should that just get a free pass because it's rap?
just got an email from x showing that UMG hit a massive copyright sweep on accounts posting drakeβs ICEMAN tracks. have they done this kind of mass takedown for other major album drops from other artists too, or is this specifically a drake thing?
@NEVERCHANGEJAY@Whats_the_dirt Heβs not a journalist. He simply gave a breakdown of his interpretation and then came out publicly and said Calico has said itβs inaccurate.
