And the human rights organizations? Won’t they condemn the taking of hostages and the use of hospitals?

Don’t be foolish. Amnesty, Human Rights Watch and the international media rely on Palestinian organizations and local Palestinians who know which crimes to report and which to ignore.

You have thought of everything. But I worry many Palestinians will die before the world stops the Zionist aggression.

That will help us. Our supporters will call it "genocide" every day, at every opportunity, until the Zionists are forced to defend themselves from the accusation rather than from us.

I mentioned yesterday the impact The League of Gentlemen had on me when it first appeared on our screens. Its radio equivalent, for me, would have to be The Shuttleworths. The series follows the everyday adventures of Sheffield's favourite singer-songwriter, John Shuttleworth, together with his family and sole agent, Ken Worthington. Written by and performed by Graham Fellows, AKA Jilted John, it was one of the finest things to emerge from radio comedy when it debuted in 1993, rivaling anything since I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue. In my view, it remains every bit as brilliant today. In fact, I should try and get Graham on the podcast.

Anyway, here's a track that appeared on John's brilliant BBC series, 500 Bus Stops - the seminal Eggs and Gammon.

So, based on your own post, Grifter, the fall in the Gazan population is mostly people leaving not dying and, since Hamas say they have paid widows' stipends to 50,000 women, that means only 20,000 of the 70,000 deaths were civilians. That's the lowest non-combatant to combatant ratio in the history of urban warfare. And I'm pretty sure that 20k deaths out of 2.3 million people ain't a "genocide". Whatever you think of the IDF, the one thing they're not is incompetent. If genocide had been the aim, that wouldn't be the death toll.

Every summer we are told Britain is facing “record temperatures”.

Fine. But records are based on relatively short instrumental datasets, the UK-wide series only goes back to 1884.

More importantly, if hotter summers are now the “new normal”, why are governments spending billions trying to change the weather…

…but so little helping people adapt to it?

Where is the mass rollout of cooling in care homes, hospitals, schools and social housing?

Where are grants for shading, ventilation and air conditioning?

If heat is the threat we are told it is, adaptation should be a national priority.

At the moment, the policy looks backwards: lots of money spent on symbolism, not enough spent helping people cope with reality.
