@robertmdaws It is 1969,England went there to experience the conditions before Mexico 1970. With Gordon West playing,this was taken at the Azreca Stadium before a 0-0 friendly. It might have been the same day that Neil Armstrong became the 1st man on the moon...not 100% sure on that!

@BygoneChelsea I was there in The Shed. Nearly crushed to death outside before the gates opened...really scary. Then again when some crash barriers collapsed....what on earth were they thinking?

@henrywinter I remember that game in 1969,Gordon West was in goal. So they went to Ecuador to train before the World Cup the following year...they should have stayed away from that Jewellers though!

@BygoneChelsea The cover photo shows Ossie equalising in the 12th minute (I think) after Jimmy Husband had put eventual champions Everton ahead very early. It Finished 1-1,and I was in the East Stand with my dad.
