That book sparked memories & conversations about spending summers with extended family in Kerala & Gujarat!

@RGGonzales1 I am reading his Cloud Cuckoo Land - about 1/3rd of the way in - and the writing is stunning, especially in his use of metaphors that draw on all the different senses. And then there’s his signature sentence structure - such economical but impactful use of nouns and verbs!

I grew up to Meghani’s poems such as hey Raj mane lagyo kasumbi no rang and shava beshar nu.. and his stories from my grandfather, Dhirubhai Thaker, who wished (as did I) that I read more Gujarati literature. Can’t wait to read this work!

@mathangiwrites My 7 year old has 3 “sisters” - bitti rose, snubby nose, titi rose. Each has a personality, voice and speak through her. We dare not call them “lovies” without serious retribution. Last year my daughter also imagined up a new galaxy where she was the supreme senator!
