@TatsuTweets@duolingoUK@SinjinDavidJung@jakeadelstein@BBCiPlayer@hbomax @liamnickerson Not a clue if Adelstein's stories are credible or not. But I think Liam is qualified to judge this series. He lived in Tokyo at the tail end of the bubble period and witnessed life that seems absurd today. I'll definitely give it a watch. ποΈποΈ
The reason I like Twitter (over FB) is its "algorithm" has always been either absent or inept (your choice). If my feed is a silo, it's one I made, not one constructed for me based on angry interactions.
But heavens almighty! "Top Tweets" is breathtakingly craptacular.
Canadian gun-control opponents, this is not a gotcha. Functioning gun control looks like this. With *completely* effective gun control, that headline would be "100% of criminal handguns have come from the USA." It's one desirable goal of many, not a call to retreat. You nitwits.
Earthquake last night here in Chiang Mai. Short and sharp. Itty-bitty-baby one compared to Japan, but Thailand doesn't have Japan's strict building codes. Nothing like listening to your house crick and crack and crunk and staring up at an immense concrete ceiling. #ΰΉΰΈΰΉΰΈΰΈΰΈ΄ΰΈΰΉΰΈ«ΰΈ§
@liamnickerson @TatsuTweets @keefstuart @guardian That last tweet is surely going to come across as stupid. I'm sorry for that. I swear I remember reading something on how "recent" games were increasingly borrowing mechanics across genre lines. It prob. was about Fallout & turn-based mechanics, but it resonated for me.
@liamnickerson @TatsuTweets @keefstuart @guardian Found an argument a while ago that games like Skyrim (& Fallout most obviously) are on the turn-based continuum. Fighting words, I know, but it immediately rang true to me. Not XCOM for sure, but still plays like an RPG. Not a hill I'd die on though. Just my gut talking.
I always write my own lighting solutions. I've had some really naive ad hoc color bleeding in my (very fake) GI before, but this is my first decent attempt to actually have the light *bounce*
@TatsuTweets @keefstuart @guardian @liamnickerson This was in amongst inhaling 800-page books on ColdFusion and SQL Server and writing the world's worst code known to man. At the time, I thought of it as sanity-preserving.
Best! Times! Ever!
On an unrelated note, I wore out three Microsoft Flight Sticks preserving that sanity.
@TatsuTweets @keefstuart @guardian @liamnickerson I'm totally fixated on competitive, [combos=attack] games. Not to play, but to make. Best modern examples are Tetris 99, Tetris Effect and Lumines 2 (each is mind-meltingly beautiful in its own way). Best of all time was hilariously surreal Senkyu Oh. https://t.co/EfSuHfZqLv
I'd never heard music from Spatoon until today. It has such a huge The Pillows / The Predators vibe to it, I can't believe Sawao Yamanaka wasn't in on it. Seriously, this shit slaps!
Incredible story out of Italy. Albania's PM Rama said that Italy's outgoing foreign minister Di Maio violated vaccine contracts to give BioNTech/Pfizer shots to Albania on humanitarian grounds. This is when the jabs had just arrived to Europe. https://t.co/pLXJ8RhCXM
