Another WFH home day as the grey skies deep through the window. With train strikes next week I might be doing virtual meetings for 2 weeks or so. Going to miss speaking to people in the office 😔
On my way home after a work social. Had some great chats with everyone and #stuttering came up a a topic of convo following #ISAD the beauty of awareness is that deep topics can cut through small talk and build more genuine relationships with people. Feeling 😌
One meeting down all good! Stuttered on my coffee order but before I could finish they finished me off. I didn't take it personally as they know my usual order! I'm having some lemon&ginger tea now to keep me warm. It's getting a bit chilly here 🥶
@TupsTweets@stutterlondon Two weeks ago on a call, I bluttered out "some times I hate having a stutter"...then my colleagues laughed...took me a few minutes to get a word out...then I carried on...and everyone smiled.
After a long day of working from home I can confirm I did not #stutter at work today woohoo!! The secret? I had no meetings 😅
If all we cared about was fluency this is the secret. But it's terribly boring, will not help you progress and grow.
Choose discomfort 💡
@xKellieLou thanks so much for sharing this article. It's really put a smile on my face before work this morning. The funny thing is we all go through the same emotions for any role, but for you to keep pursuing your dream really fills me with emotion. Keep posting!
So what does this mean? Nothing to be honest 😅 But I'm going to be back on posting about #stuttering experiences and calling out poor behavior when I have my stuttering moments 🙂 (3/3)
Yesterday was #isad2022 but to be honest I didn't do much. For me the day comes and goes. I enjoy everyone's posting and appreciate the effort but it's the daily grind that matters. Still I get smirks to from the unaware and I continue to call them out. That's #isad for me 🙂
The beauty of #stuttering awareness is that it happens everyday we talk. Yesterday I caught up with an old friend who stutters at our mutual friend's wedding party. It was really wholesome! Others spoke to us too as he is a covert and I'm very overt. It was an informative night!
On the way home after a long and tiring day of work. Honestly #stuttering does make things more tiring but it does help when you have a supportive team that don't judge you 🙂
