As rental cars go, this Spanish 40,000 mile Clio Turismo 1.0ltr manual, petrol, is ok. It’s a little rough running, especially when cold, it’s not the quietest on the motorway, but it cruises comfortably at 120kph, small enough for tight spaces.
Still prefer my i3 EV

30k miles covered in the BMW iX50.
Brake pad wear less than 10%.
Will take that, as my previous X5 used to manage around 60k miles and then need a set of pads and discs.

My understanding is that it is down to local regions to decide, and it could be zero, if they wished.
Many countries I have visited on business have these taxes, some like Amsterdam are severe, and IF used properly, this local money would help local communities.
I feel it’s less of an issue for business travellers, (£150 x 5% = £7.50) and more of an issue for families on a one week holiday.

@oldiecarmags @brandenflasch This time of year is very good. Even my worst would be around 120 miles in winter, below freezing and very windy on Motorway. Hasn’t really changed in 40k miles.
