Another reminder that there are hundreds of thousands of Palestinians unaccounted for, presumed dead, under rubble in the Gaza Strip. Gaza is an open-air extermination camp and Israel is attempting to kill those remaining via starvation, disease, airstrikes, and/or lack of care.
Gaza is taking its last breaths, and the situation we have reached is extremely dangerous.
Temperatures are rising to suffocating levels, and the tents where hundreds of thousands live have turned into ovens made of fabric and plastic. There is no electricity, no air conditioning, no fans, no cold water. People try to sleep, but heat, hunger, and fear make sleep seem like an impossible dream.
Clean water is scarce, cleaning supplies are almost nonexistent, and essential medicines are unavailable. Skin diseases are spreading in a terrifying way among children and adults, while garbage piles up and sewage mixes with displacement areas, spreading even more suffering.
Long lines form for food, yet many return empty handed. Aid is decreasing, and most relief centers have stopped or are no longer able to meet even the minimum needs.
At night, rats, insects, snakes, and scorpions crawl into the tents, while during the day people face unbearable heat and endless hunger. There is no safety, no privacy, and nowhere to go. Meanwhile, killings and destruction continue daily, while Gaza’s space shrinks day by day, forcing people into smaller and more overcrowded areas.
This is not life. This is not displacement. This is a complete collapse of everything that allows human beings to live with dignity.
What more is the world waiting for? How many children must go hungry? How many patients must die before the world acts? Do not stay silent. Speak about Gaza. Share what is happening.
Wild to think about how if Kristof lived in Gaza or the West Bank, the Israeli military would likely by now have just announced he was aiding terrorism and blown him up with guided missiles, as they’ve done to countless Palestinian journalists over the last three years.
The lack of news on Gaza isn’t because the genocide is over.
It’s because Israel slaughtered the journalists and Western media pretends there’s a ceasefire.
I am so heartbroken.
Israel has just shot my 30-year-old aunt in the chest while she was sitting with her three young children in a school shelter in Jabalia Camp. She is in critical condition; the bullet pierced her chest and exited through her back, devastating her lungs and spleen.
At the moment she was hit, she was holding her one-year-old son. He fell from her lap as she collapsed and was found bleeding from one of his ears.
I just spoke with my uncle, who told me that Israel has been using subsonic bullets lately. He said his sister is the second mother in the camp to be shot in the chest today.
Please pray for her and our family. Her husband was abducted by Israel in November 2024, and we still have no word on his condition.
💢🇱🇧 BREAKING | Israel launched 100 strikes across Lebanon in 10 minutes Wednesday afternoon, targeting Beirut, the south, and the Bekaa Valley — hours after a ceasefire was announced and declared “effective immediately” by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Sounds of ambulances filled the streets of Beirut from 3 PM local time. The Lebanese Red Cross head Georges Kettaneh told LBCI: “The wounded and casualties are numerous. We are doing everything we can to save them.” Several Beirut hospitals issued urgent blood donation appeals.
Neighborhoods struck in Beirut without prior warning included Salim Slem, Borj Abi Haidar, Corniche al-Mazraa, Bashoura, and the southern suburbs. Kaifoun and Bshamoun, east of Beirut, were also hit, according to L’Orient Today.
Across southern Lebanon, the cities of Tyre, Sidon, and Nabatieh were struck alongside villages including Adloun, Bazourieh, al-Abbassieh, Zefta, Sir al-Gharbieh, Ansar, and Ain Baal. In Sidon, a strike on the al-Zahraa complex wounded Al Manar correspondent Amin Shumer.
In the eastern Bekaa Valley, strikes hit Baalbek and villages including Hermel, Shemstar, al-Karak, al-Ferzel, Boudai, and Sohmor. Several people were wounded in Hermel. Two people were killed when a truck was struck between Hasbaya and Maymas.
The Amal Movement confirmed six people killed in an earlier strike on Srifa, a village in southern Lebanon near the coastal city of Tyre.
In Mansouri — another southern village along the Mediterranean coast — 13 residents, including the village mukhtar, lost contact after returning home following the ceasefire announcement, as the town came under repeated shelling.
Netanyahu has stated the ceasefire does not cover Lebanon, even as Hezbollah halted fire on northern Israel and invading ground troops, according to Reuters. Drop Site correspondent Lylla Younes reported warplanes back in the sky over Beirut at 8 AM local time, with ambulances running nonstop and people screaming in the streets.
It’s not only about him following through on a threat to annihilate an entire civilization. It’s that he has the power to do it and no one will stop him, and that he can say it out loud knowing that they won’t.
This is what allowing Israel’s total impunity has normalized.
The world will not be the same after Gaza, not until there is accountability.
Hamidreza Afrideh, a composer and kamancheh player, sits on the ruins of his music school and says:
"I wanted the last sound that remains here to be music, not bombs and missiles."
Why is she doing this? Because there was general strike after general strike in Rome calling for an end to the genocide. Because the Italian dockers refused to ship weapons to Israel. The people made their fascist, pro-war PM change her tune because they demanded it. ✊🇮🇹
United Nations expert Francesca Albanese’s latest report warns that Israel is systematically torturing Palestinians on a scale that “suggests collective vengeance and destructive intent” and that “torture has effectively become state policy” since October 2023.

The hostage crisis has completely fallen out of the news cycle because all of remaining thousands upon thousands of hostages, like Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, are Palestinian.
