I had read a book on Kant by R Scruton. Very general and superficial. The details you share about Kant paint a very different picture. No wonder A Rand doesn't speak highly of him!

I'm addressing the point about "durability". To me, it is not durable for people who don't have the discipline to stick to it. The health benefits don't show up right away. Junk food wins. Doing carnivore + veggies sounds ideal to me. We're omnivores after all.
@siimland I believe age plays a part in this. After age 35 approximately, muscle protein synthesis is influenced strongly by the presence of branched chain aminoacids. Before 35, hormones are the main driver of MPS.

China is a huge influence, directly or indirectly. South Korea seems to be making a hard left turn now. Asian cultures may be too collective at heart. Not as much individualism like in west. It's complicated...
