Our #Trichy airport has received more tourist footfall. The Tropical Butterfly Conservatory, Trichy is one of the reasons. This conservatory 🦋 is one of the biggest in Asia sprawling 25 in the island part between the river Cauvery and Kollidam. It houses as many as 133 species.

AAI has cleared the terminal design for the new passenger terminal, link taxiway, and aircraft parking bays at Thanjavur Airport.

The project will be developed on the 55 acres handed over by Thalaivar then CM Thiru @MKStalin’s #DravidiansModel Govt to the Union govt, about 2 years ago.

The project picked up serious pace after we met with the Defence Secretary and Secretary of Civil Aviation in Nov 2023. The same month I also visited the proposed airport site along with TIDCO officials and district administration and also facilitated AAI’s request for a four-lane approach road. Following this we also held meetings with the Civil Aviation Minister and his team in 2024 and 2025. Special thanks to the Dir Trichy Airport for his efforts on data collection on passengers from the Thanjavur belt🙏🏾

@TRBRajaa ThanjavurAirport should be avoid,it’s just 60 Km from Tirchy airport .

Thanjavur have a lot historical places which may cause damage to these structure .

If Thanjavur airport can come scrap the Parundur airport instead may opt for Mahabalipuram .

@UpdatesChennai No use as of now , we will be wasting our money and resources for an airport which no airlines will operate… probably another 25 years later might be worth it .. With so much potential Parandur should be priority and focus should be to spent money and resources there..
