For every one billionaire minted since the pandemic began, 1M more people could be pushed into extreme poverty in 2022. While the world is reeling from multiple crises, the world’s wealthiest are unashamedly #ProfitingFromPain of ordinary people🧑🏭More

Today's court backlog outrage: Client in custody; on 28/10 defence are informed case to be dropped + so client can be released. Court didn't list the case (PTPH) + ignored requests for a hearing. Case now to be heard on 10/11. So an innocent man is in prison due to lack of court.

Instagram disables Tamil Guardian’s page in act of online censorship
An audience of over 19,000 followers will no longer be able to follow our coverage on Instagram. This is unacceptable.

I think the Trustees & Management of @TamilGuardian shd be told urgently why @instagram & @Facebook have disabled their page. At first glance this seems like a clear case of online censorship. Either way clarity on why this was done and the way forward is essential
It is simply appalling that there is no mention of human rights here. The Government of Sri Lanka flouted commitments made in UK-led UNHRC resolutions and presides over ongoing human rights abuses today. Has our Government abandoned its commitment to this issue?
