if you end up replacing it, make sure you boot to bios after doing so and make sure the system time is set correctly and that nothing else looks strange before you boot into windows again
@veermusic@rareklipse 99% likely not a windows thing lol be careful and i would backup everything you don't wanna lose somewhere off your laptop - like backblaze for the cloud or an external ssd or usb idk
@veermusic if you're finding the error keeps showing up every time you reboot or turn on the laptop its probably the battery, they're usually CR2032 batteries unless your laptop uses a slightly different battery
@veermusic if you haven't fixed it yet, see if you can get into the laptop and find the cmos battery (looks like a coin). if its not soldered on you can try reseating it or just buy a replacement if its dead (more likely). they're pretty cheap and this is a common issue with older devices
@veermusic dead cmos battery causes the bios to be reset which among other things like resetting the system time, can show up with a "new CPU installed" warning
