As India observes Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 under the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility,” I ask — are these ideals of honesty and justice truly practiced, or do they remain mere slogans?

In 2020, my father — a govt officer who served the State with integrity — was falsely implicated in a Vigilance DA case no (32/20 Cuttack division).During the search of our house, only ₹700 in cash was found, yet the case still drags on, causing years of mental and financial agony for our family.

To sustain my business, I had mortgaged our house for a Cash Credit (CC) loan, but the Vigilance Department froze the loan account for three months, As a result, my business collapsed, the account turned NPA, and our mortgaged house is now under auction proceedings.

My father has still not received his retirement benefits, despite decades of dedicated service. Our family of five — including a small child — now faces the fear of losing our home.

Even my mother’s locker containing my wife’s marriage ornaments remains sealed, though we have submitted every proof of ownership. For over a year and a half, we were repeatedly assured — “Submit one more document, it will be released soon” — but nothing changed. I even requested that at least these ornaments be released so I could sell them to save our house, but no action has been taken.

During our house auction process, Sri K. Benugopal Acharya, In-charge SP Vigilance (Cuttack Division), dismissed my grievance, saying, “Go to the officer who was there during the raid.” Even more hurtful was his remark: “After your home is attached to government property, I will make a government office over it.” Such words are deeply painful coming from someone in a position of responsibility.

Despite multiple grievances, including CPGRAMS Ticket ID DEPT20251268526, there has been no response.

I am writing this after multiple visits to the department, numerous grievances, and several written applications. I have tried my best, but when justice remains unheard, where should a citizen go?

As Odisha prepares to celebrate Vigilance Week with slogans of honesty and transparency, our family continues to suffer in silence.

Hope u are aware that this is not the 1st time a Jagannatht temple is build. Thousands of Temple are there world wide & we feel proud about it as true Bhaktas of Mahaprabhu. For @sardesairajdeep ji's knowledge : Ratha Jatra a global event conducted at thousands of destinations with pride... but no one ever dared to propagate it in this way.

My humble request to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri @narendramodi ji, to intervene and address the West Bengal government's decision to refer to Jagannath Temple in #Digha as "#JagannathDham." This sacred title is exclusively associated with Puri, Odisha. The use of this term for another site has caused widespread confusion and deeply hurt the sentiments of countless devotees of Mahaprabhu Jagannath. Prompt action is needed to preserve the sanctity and uniqueness of this cherished religious identity. Jai Jagannath 🙏

Had an amazing solo trek to Deomali, Odisha’s highest and most stunning peak. The view from the top was absolutely breathtaking.

However, it was disheartening to see the trail marred by litter. Such pristine wonders deserve better. A little civic sense can make a huge difference… Every visitor should carry back their waste to help protect these places.
