Overlays (widgets) are sold as silver bullet solutions toward website accessibility. However, they're bandaids that override assistive tech. Now an overlay company is suing an accessibility advocate because the truth is out about their shortcomings.

This "side project" sounds exhausting though... Spreading yourself thin. And minimizing "grow a social media account" as if it's snap your fingers easy. Sinking money into paid ads on a whim with a shaky foundation. Is this really what people are teaching and doing? Lawd.
@IBJIYONGI Maybe pin a "closed" post to the top and in your welcome email, let them know it's just a dormant archive without new editions coming out. Maybe link them to the new place.
Saw this posted on LinkedIn as a leader’s recommended reading list (or something along those lines).
Once again I am begging of you, please read more fiction. I promise that it will do more for you vs another productivity optimization book.
This is SO beautiful! A creative community-based space for co-working. It goes beyond project collaborations by leaning into co-creating and sharing resources.
@MarquiseDavon And sometimes the micro-communities that ARE created are done so out of trauma-based necessity instead of joy or shared/mutual interests (e.g. marginalized communities having to seek each other out for support, share resources, etc)
@MarquiseDavon Catching up on this ep. So good! It has me thinking about the lack of 'third spaces' in the US. After high school (uni, if you're lucky), there's no organic, serendipitous place to be in-community as an adult. After work is just drinking. Apt neighbors don't chat.
At one time, I had a curated feed that balanced joy, creativity, academia, realness, activism, and support. Now it seems everyone is teaching something, always negative without any solutions or compassion, or just endless dumpster fire 'discourse'.
Figuring out how, if at all, I want to use this platform (and social media in general) for my biz. Something that's fulfilling and not hamster-wheel draining. Two-way connection and not one-way screaming into the void. Not to mention all the changes since Musty took over -_-
@MarquiseDavon I never watched the series but it's been on my list forevaaaa. Is it like 20 seasons deep and it's too late for me to catch up before this new bit drops?

@charliprangley 1. Biggest challenge they've faced as a team (can be design related or non design, like personality clashes)
2. What they've learned about themselves since joining
3. Favourite snack 😋
4. Worst design or career advice they were given or had believed
@philtalkradio As a Hard of hearing person, it's frustrating + disheartening to have podcast transcripts, an accessibility feature, paywalled. Having them public can also help your SEO, if you're looking for a biz reason to accommodate people. Anyways, hopefully you'll reconsider in the future!
My quarterly complaint that you can't leave Slack workspaces without an Admin doing it for you -_- So much digital clutter since I can't ditch old or inactive groups on my own. Makes me hesitant to even join new ones, tbh. /rant
Y'all... We won a thing! Thanks to the amazing team @SVADSI , we got Gold and Silver for "Branding for Social Change".
