@MrHistory92@julianHjessop@Edwina_Currie@AndyBurnhamGM@YvetteCooperMP@wesstreeting I’d put Rachel Reeves in as cabinet tea lady, and that’s stretching her capabilities. Lammy could be Downing Street’s very own village idiot, but that’s an affront to capable village idiots across the land. Darren Jones as chief butt snorkler…… and head of the freebie dept.
@Goto_paulcastle Pray tell, by what definition is the economy stabilised? Debt is running out of control , tax at an all time high, gilt yields off the scale…..
@adamboultonTABB@gorbalsgoebbels Miliband is an utter liability in the eyes of the electorate. Burnham’s first test will be what to do with mad Ed, and the hapless Reeves. No doubt he will bring back gobshite tax avoider Raynor and iPhone Haigh.
The best thing a new PM could do is to remove Mr Miliband from Energy and out of the Treasury. His rip off energy prices, huge net zero costs and wish to close down all UK fossil fuels closes many factories. It sends big tax payments abroad as we switch to imports.
Just to remind some folk that is nothing ‘timid’ about a Labour government lifting half a million kids out of poverty, the biggest uplift of workers rights in a generation, giving millions of people a pay rise, transforming the NHS, nationalising the steel industry & our railways
Yesterday’s result shows that Reform can be beaten, just as the Liberal Democrats have done in local elections across the country.
But while Labour fight over the keys to No. 10, people are struggling.
We need real change, not more chaos, starting with a new deal with Europe.
@CarolineLucas@AndyBurnhamGM Calling a significant portion of the electorate, many of whom are decent, hardworking, tax paying people, who dare to vote Reform ‘far right’ shows an utter lack of awareness of what makes Joe Public tick. It’s insulting and demeans politics.
@afneil This on the day that Starmer claims to have ‘stabilised’ the economy as one of his great achievements. Utter delusion, borrowing out of control, spending out of control and borrowing costs on the gilt markets across a range of gilt terms tell the true story.
The Gestapo marched hundreds of thousands of innocent people to their deaths.
I've ended private schools' tax breaks to invest in state schools.
No responsible leader makes vile comparisons like this. Kemi Badenoch is not fit to be Prime Minister.
@DominicFarrell Service chiefs hanging on for their final round of gongs and maybe a sniff at a seat in the HoL. They wouldn’t want to upset the Apple cart by resigning.
@richmiller29@BenWallace70@AlistairCarns@JuliaHB1 No chance, when was the last time a CDS or Service Chief resigned over a political matter like this?
1965? Admiral Sir David Luce maybe? He went when the Govt cancelled the Carrier programme CVA01.
