The IBA's agreement from March 2024 should not be left pending; the demand for 5-day banking is now more urgent than ever. #5DayBankingNow#AIBOC@PMOIndia
Bankers keep India connected 24×7.
But behind every transaction, target and deadline is a human being, with a family, responsibilities and a life beyond the branch.
A 5-day week was agreed in March 2024, with bankers accepting longer working hours from Monday to Friday.
The demand is reasonable. The commitment is proven. The delay is difficult to justify.
Implement 5-Day Banking now.

Every bank employee deserves a fair work-life balance, which can only be achieved with the implementation of the 5-day week. #5DayBankingNow#AIBOC@PMOIndia
Every 24x7 banking service has a banker behind it and a family waiting at home. We agreed to the 5-day week in March 2024 and accepted longer weekday hours. The regulator, the insurer and the Government all work 5 days.
Our demand is just. The delay is not.

Create a take-action plan—amend the PLI scheme through immediate consultations in line with the expectations of all banking staff. #5DayWeekandFairPLI#AIBOC@PMOIndia https://t.co/PlZyfP2dE6
COMMITMENT MADE? THEN WHERE IS THE IMPLEMENTATION?
➡️ 5-Day Banking: Honour the commitment.
➡️ Unilateral PLI: Put it on hold. Withdraw the discriminatory framework.
➡️ PLI: Dialogue, not diktat. Rework it through meaningful bilateral discussions
➡️ Residual issues: Resolve them. No more indefinite delay.
A commitment demands implementation.
Implementation demands accountability.
📢 ONE VOICE. ONE PLATFORM. ONE UNITED DEMAND.

Fewer working days promote efficiency. Banks can streamline operations and serve customers better on a focused schedule. #5DayWeekandFairPLI#AIBEA@PMOIndia
Honour the earlier agreements and allow bank employees their well-deserved 5-day week without unnecessary delays. #5DayWeekandFairPLI#AIBOC@PMOIndia https://t.co/MndZmLxAdN
Discriminatory PLI is unacceptable.
Scale I, II & III officers received comparatively meagre PLI, while Scale IV & above received substantially higher amounts.Recognition and rewards must be fair across the organisation.

Fairness at work. Dignity in service. Equality in reward.
India’s bank employees are asking for two long-pending and legitimate demands:
#5DayWeekandFairPLI
The 5-Day Banking Week is not a new demand. It was already agreed upon in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. What employees seek now is only its timely implementation.
At the same time, PLI must be fair, transparent and inclusiverecognising the collective contribution of every employee, not rewarding a select few through a discriminatory system. Every deposit mobilised, every loan processed, every customer served and every target achieved is the result of teamwork.
Bank employees are not seeking special treatment.
They are seeking fairness, equality and implementation of what has already been agreed.
A valued workforce builds stronger banks and a stronger India.

365 days vs 15 days.
These are not merely numbers on a policy document. They represent a very real difference in how employees may be valued and rewarded.
If banking is a team effort, then the incentive system must strengthen that team—not create a divide within it.
We believe senior officers deserve recognition for performance. But the contribution of every employee—from the person managing the counter to the person ensuring the branch functions smoothly—must also be recognised fairly.
That is why we stand for:
✔ Equitable PLI
✔ 5-Day Banking
✔ Dignity for every employee
✔ A stronger and more motivated banking workforce
