Nobody wants technology. People want to send money, speak privately, and prove that they are human without giving up their identity.
Technology is the machinery in the background. Products are the switches on the wall. You flick it, and the light turns on, taking the technology and infrastructure behind it for granted.
Polkadot spent a decade building the machinery. Now it is building the switch.
Four talks from @Web3Summit showcase the new Polkadot direction and what is being built right now.
Whoever builds the switch controls the light.

Single-leader consensus makes censorship risk the default. One proposer decides what gets in. With multi-proposer, every validator runs its own lane. If one censors you, submit to another and it still lands.
The two staking updates referenda #1909 and #1910 are live now on Polkadot.
Together, they enact staking parameter updates to strengthen network security while optimising overall security costs.
Ref #1909 : Builds on the approved 10,000 DOT minimum self-stake requirement, introducing self-stake rewards, zero % commission, and permissionless chilling of under-bonded validators.
Ref #1910: Removes nominator slashing and reduces the unbonding period for nominators from ~28 days to ~48 hours.
