An ex once told me that me thinking Drake’s music was stupid was indicative of the cultural ignorance I had by living in Montana most of my life. Really glad that ten years later I’m confidently marking that down as a very correct assessment on my part.
@rush_less That line is one of my absolute favorites. But also… I can’t imagine that movie hitting as deep as an adult if you didn’t already have history with it.
People who reduce noise music or black metal or free jazz or any avant garde form down to “it’s so scary and crazy” are essentially tourists. It is the role of the listener to find the strange beauty, not to gawk at what may seem malformed.
Honestly so excited about the music I’m making these days. It’s just really nice to see what I was making just five years ago and see the development now. I haven’t worked this hard at something ever.
2026 goal is to start writing with the same energy. I’m decidedly better at writing than music yet I am scared of it more. Very strange to me to be less confident about one outlet I KNOW I’m better at.
While FaceTiming with my family my nephew hugged the computer so he could send me a hug and it was darn near one of the cutest things I’ve experienced.
I do love that on NG+ at level 215 that Elden Ring can still absolutely humble me and kick my ass. I just lost 800k runes and I’m not even mad cause it was very fair. I got cocky.
@bagagwaa Maybe it might work? I’m 42, enjoyed a couple early albums a lot, but now can’t stand listening to them cause all I think about are the most annoying people on earth that thought they were the second coming. You might be able to listen to it now without the association of idiots.
