A 9-year-old Pakistani Australian Citizen girl, Hania Ahmed, was shot dead in Punjab, Pakistan, after police(CCD) opened fire on her family’s vehicle. Her father and brother were also injured.

Her death has brought renewed attention to Punjab’s Crime Control Department (CCD). According to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), more than 900 people were killed in police encounters linked to the CCD within just eight months of its formation.

A child lost her life. A family was shattered. And serious questions remain about policing, accountability, and the value of human life.

Justice for Hania Ahmed. Justice for every innocent victim.

How many more lives must be lost before meaningful accountability arrives?

EU , Australia and other western countries must impose sanctions on the head of CCD and other personnels involved in extrajudicial killings and blatant violation of human rights
