For a moment let us set aside the fact that changing the name of the AIFF to the Football Federation of Bharat or adding Vande Mataram in addition to the National Anthem before matches is not going to make any material difference to how the Indian team plays football.
My question is, did none of the committee members in the room even think that as the guardians and guiding lights of the world's most popular sport in the world's most populous country, these were not the decisions that every football lover was looking for from them?
And that worries me more than any name change or additional ceremony. They have no idea how tone deaf their decisions sounded in the middle of a World Cup, utterly detached from ground realities.
@Sean_Rogers But hasn't Salah always been like that when it comes to club management? His tantrums everytime there was a contract renewal etc were no different. He is a fan favorite for sure but this isn't the first time him being like this dealing with LFC mgmt
@moronhumor@StarSportsIndia@JioHotstar@BCCI I hope they bring back @rpsingh . Rudra bhaiya ki Hindi ek to kamaal ki hai, Arun Lal or Maninder Singh ke baad proper Hindi mein bolne waale wohi hain. Plus theatrics/drama bhi kam karte hain, commentary jyade
@MayaviMaarich@theskindoctor13 Chalo bhai kisi ne to kaha. Ek random aadmi ne galat parking kar di, aur poora Twitter ab desh ka vikaas na ho paane ka doshi usi ko bana diya hai ๐๐๐
@HenryJackson87 Its frustrating but nowhere close to what we felt with Daniel Sturridge ๐, so good when fit but so rare that he was available regularly
These folks gambled their careers on Larry & Sergei's search engine startup.
They wrote Google's first lines of code. Sold its first ads. Grew its first teams.
They started in a garage, and walked away with millions.
Where are Google's first 10 non-founding hires now? ๐
@Dean_Winnipeg@satyum_ Yupp it's a stretch given how Kanishka bombing (one among many incidents) was never properly investigated which would have established how some terrorists are residing safely in Canada.
@RandomCricketP1 I agree! 2023 was painful, but not close to 2003. What a real Chak-De India story it would have been, loosing to Aus in 1st game, coming back & beating a strong Pak side on the way and then to beat Aus during their peak era in final would've been a story for ages!!
@SAAdvantage Also @SAAdvantage , apart from the Stoinis (I don't see his name on the doc) do you think LSG will try Pooran as captain or will be in market for new captain this auction?
@SAAdvantage@hardikpandya7 It will be very interesting if he can put IPL behind and put in stellar performances at WC2024. Perceptions change very quickly ๐ (for that matter everyone part of WC2024 has a great chance to show credentials prior to a mega auction year)
@SAAdvantage Just one of the point I don't align with on an otherwise excellent thread. @hardikpandya7 will likely be retained. Non-cricket problems plagued 2024 but 1 yr shouldn't define a mentally strong clutch player who can revive his team out of trouble. Cliched but #ClassIsPermanent
@RandomCricketP1 2 aspects:
1. Many cricket comm/influencer/fan bring Kohli in tweets/discussions to farm engagement (on both sides, e.g. SR criticism, justifying reaction to no ball)
2. With or with/o direct involvement, "fan wars" on their post โซengagement
@alter_jamie Maybe this is a great team of the tournament/team of IPL 2024, not so much the WC squad. Some not ready for next level, e.g. Abhishek Sharma's mentor Yuvraj said Abhishek will be ready in 6 months, isn't ready yet!
@HenryJackson87 When we replaced midfield, didn't expect to be running for title. Didn't expect to run for title when we signed Endo, but we did all that and more. We have over-achieved. Quadruple was media hype (except City none have squad to do it) Hoping people realize all that #LiverpoolFC
