Election Day in Maricopa County and right on cue… the county Republican chairman, Craig Berland, says some vote centers are completely down, ballot printers are acting up, and tabulators are spitting ballots right back out at voters. Sound familiar? It should, because we watched this exact circus in 2022 and they told everyone to calm down and move along.

Now keep in mind, according to the report, the Board of Supervisors swapped out equipment that was already working during early voting for different machines that had never been proven in the field. Who signs off on that right before the biggest day of the cycle, and why does nobody ever lose their job over it?

Here is the reality… when the machines break in the same county, on the same day, every single cycle, it is not bad luck, it is the system doing what it was built to do. And the part that guts me is Berland saying people keep asking him "why should I bother voting? It doesn't count anyhow." I understand that feeling better than most, and yet you stay in line, you vote anyway, and you make them count it.
