@KosherSoul My grandmother would make candied sweet potatoes in the oven. Especially for funerals etc., as Mama taught school and couldn’t always find time to make food to take. Perfectly round slices all lined up. Sweet Potato is so hard to cut. I wonder if she boiled them first.

@VindueAbent @KosherSoul It may have been how thin - or not - the cucumbers were sliced. And if salted separately before the vinegar. We made it growing up as the cukes ripened, and my mom made it from sight for lunch but always better later. I will talk to her. Maybe they were Vidalia onions.
