What do California’s Camp Fire, Eaton Fire (Altadena), and Maui’s Lahaina fire all have in common?
Gavin Newsom’s longtime family friend and business partner Joseph Cotchett.
Cotchett and Newsom were partners in PlumpJack and Hana Ranch on Maui. Cotchett’s firm, Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, has represented victims in all three fires, helping secure billions in settlements against PG&E, Southern California Edison, and Hawaiian Electric. The firm earns millions in post-settlement fees while donating hundreds of thousands to Newsom’s campaigns and anti-recall efforts.
Partner Frank Pitre even sits on the Trust Oversight Committee overseeing payouts to Camp Fire victims. Ratepayers fund Newsom's California Wildfire Fund (AB 1054) through higher electricity bills, while Joseph Cotchett’s firm profits. Taxpayers are on the hook to bail out utility companies—like the record $15 billion DOE loan guarantee to PG&E finalized during Biden’s last days in office.
Insane ROI!
Kaiser Permanente donated $20,000 to the nonprofit in 2018 and 2019 and received $172.2 million from the state.
PG&E donated $358,000 to Siebel Newsom’s nonprofit between 2011 and 2018. PG&E received $323.8 million from the state in 2021. https://t.co/wqn1CXAOc1
Jennifer Siebel Newsom failed to pay taxes on nearly ($4M) dollars, for (10) years
The @TheJusticeDept has the goods on her... the lavish lifestyle her and greasy Gavin live on is unsustainable on a Gov't salary
I can't wait to see the mugshots of these two corrupt Democrats
Gavin Newsom’s chief of staff plead guilty and many whistleblower in California are providing evidence to a grand jury, but according to Newscum it’s a Trump hit job
🔥 Jennifer Siebel Newsom Under Federal Investigation
California First Lady Jennifer Siebel Newsom, wife of Gov. Gavin Newsom, is the subject of a Justice Department investigation into tax-related conduct tied to her nonprofit work.
The probe, which began last year based on whistleblower reports, includes interviews, grand jury subpoenas, and scrutiny of family finances.
Gavin Newsom responded strongly, saying:
“If they can’t intimidate me, they’ll go after the mother of our children… Donald Trump picked the wrong target. We have nothing to hide.”
He also called it part of a “personal vendetta” and urged to “leave my wife and family out of your personal vendetta.”
This adds another layer of scrutiny to the Newsom administration.
What do you think this means for accountability in California?

As a California taxpayer, I hope the inquiry uncovers where the billions and billions and billions of dollars from fraudulent unemployment cards, trains to nowhere, partially-realized building plans, etc have gone under the watch of this governor. Whether wasted or stolen, every CA citizen deserves justice over the financial sieve that is CA governance. @DOJFraudDiv@dojphofficial@realDonaldTrump
