😞😢 Very shocked to read this very sad news. A memorable legend, especially to anyone who found the online social spaces she created/encouraged a wonderful experience. Always genuine & heartfelt & funny interaction. RIP 😔
🚨🇳🇿 One brave man stands alone trying to stop the murdering terrorist.
The World is going to need a lot more men like him.
Don’t let anyone ever tell you that masculinity is a bad thing.
I give you the female police officer who ran towards the gravest of danger, alone, confronted a rampaging knife man, eliminated the threat, & still managed to administer first aid right after.
If you're looking for a hero today, you need look no further.

@MFWitches “Should receive damages commensurate with the reputation he deserves” might give Lehrmann false hope , but in actual fact could be one on the greatest steel fist within a velvet gloved backhand we may see delivered by the judicial system.
Deportation of Lehrmann is just reward .
John Hewson: “The opposition has been saying the Voice to Parliament – which was lost to the disgracefully dishonest and racially based, Dutton-led “No” campaign – was a significant and expensive distraction for Albanese. It prefers to ignore that the prime minister was just attempting to do what was right in our national interest, in response to the guidance of First Nations people, and provide an effective basis for eliminating Indigenous disadvantage.”
There’s nothing funny about rape but can we just say this Judge adjudicating at the Bruce Lehrmann hearing today about whether his identity could be revealed or not is a hilarious human being. Here’s part of the exchange as reported:
“Just after 4pm local time, Justice Peter Applegarth dismissed Lehrmann's application, allowing him to be publicly named. The justice noted the evidence that Lehrmann had participated in three
television interviews between June and August this year. ‘Rather than lower his public profile and retreat from the media spotlight, the applicant chose for whatever reason to appear more than once on national television and revisit events that had triggered his mental illness in early 2021’ Applegarth noted in his written reasons. ‘He seemingly felt well enough to engage with sections of the national media, and to deal with any resulting further coverage he received from the media outlets he appeared on and other media that followed up on his high-profile appearances.’ “
Just how stupid would someone have to be to claim extreme stress from mental illness as a reason he can’t be named as an accused rapist when he was not only happy but fucking salivating to appear on Channel 7’s ridiculous TV shows whenever they fucking asked him to?
Knob.
It takes real chutzpah for the Coalition to have occupied the government benches for 21 of the last 27 years and blame everyone else for failures in Indigenous policy.
This should break anyone’s heart. Our most vulnerable, highest risk
Remote Aboriginal communities clearly endorsing the voice. We will be working on this more
1. Heavily indigenous booths in Qld have voted yes as follows: Palm Island 75%, Thursday Island 74%, Lockhart River 66%, Pormpuraaw 56%.
2. .In the NT, booths managed by the remote mobile teams consisting of a higher proportion of Indigenous Australians returned a Yes of 71.9%..The rest of the NT was 32.6%.
3. More analysis need, but it's clear Indigenous support is overwhelmingly Yes. Don't believe the lies.
4. Preliminary analysis In Bob Katter's seat of Kennedy, shows polling booths with a catchment of more than 50% Indigenous Australians returned a Yes of 69.5%. The rest of Kennedy returned a Yes of 18.5%.
5. It seems that the ~80% figure of Indigenous support was right
All the voting data is available from the AEC's tallyroom website (here: https://t.co/OyVNuJSiXx)
As for the data on Indigenous levels, the ABS website and its Census portal, plus the AEC's site for its maps of all electorates ... Narrowing down all the various booths, and their Indigenous levels, took a while!
With thanks to Shane Wright from the age

Never been more ashamed to be Australian. We killed them, stole their land and their children, and we can't even have the basic fucking human decency to recognise that they were here first and to listen to them about issues affecting them. We're a racist country. #Referendum2023
