@Parents4RJ@brett_tingley Teach my Kid to Read is an excellent resource for librarians! They are spreading the word in libraries and setting up literacy hubs with decodables!

For the last two years, I’ve been working with an education group that serves correctional facilities. We’re trying to get my adult literacy program into the prisons.
(Amazingly, many inmates can get trade certification, GED’s, college degree, and even in some cases graduate degrees. But very little basic literacy.)
It would have to be a peer mentoring program. So the plan is for me to teach some of the inmates how to teach my program.
It seems like correctional facilities run on their own time universe. We’ve been derailed many times, and weeks or months in between certain metrics being satisfied. But we just had a meeting this morning and I think it’s really going to happen.
I’ve been cleared as a volunteer and I go to an orientation next week.

@ehanford@LianaLoewus I am in schools across this country as are many who are a part on X, and I have yet to see anywhere where there is an overteaching of phonics. When scientists make claims they should and must make those claims based on EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE.
24,000 VIEWS !! The one and only reading specialist extraordinaire, Lisa Flute, from the Central Dauphin School District’s North Side Elementary, re-organized the book room to truly resemble the simple view of reading!
Books to build knowledge AND books to support accurate and automatic word reading!!! Here is the original video link: https://t.co/Tu3DDl9zms
I revisited North Side Elementary’s book room a bit ago and it may be hard to believe, but it’s true, it’s even BETTER!!! That’s the video in this post now along with some photos.
A massive shout out to the brilliant Lisa Flue for sharing with all of you how to organize a school book room in partnership with teachers so ALL READ!!!
