@JulieChangRE What do people think about how Costco has contributed to the hollowing out of downtowns and the death of small businesses there? Even if things there cost a few dollars more, was it worth it?

[Sue Young @sueyvn]

@ottawacity @Alex_S_Cullen Just know that your 1+1 use bag still ends up in landfill, as the composting facility screens it out and sens it there. Go compostable and use reusable bags for shopping.

@loveCDNsalmon @DiLebouthillier @FishOceansCAN @JustinTrudeau Too many negative impacts from farmed fosh - END IT! Focus on sustainable harvests of wild stocks.

It's day 11 here at #COP28 and today the negotiations to keep 1.5C alive and limit the devastating impacts of global heating on humans and more-than-humans are shifting up a gear.

But the problematic phase "down" vs "out" debate may have re-entered the chat... 🧵

[Sue Young @sueyvn]

@DavidBegnaud Costco is why we have hollowed out downtowns, why we pay good money for storage, and why we waste SO MUCH. Wake up people!!! Every time you go to Costco you are undermining the social, economic and env’tal capital of your own neighbourhoods and towns.

@HorizonAlgonClg @HorizonOttawa Please attend the student street party after Panda before dissing preventative measures.

@jen_keesmaat @MontePaulsen @studiojci Agree for the size and density … “lovely” I find an exaggeration … charmless more like. Was there nothing the architects could pick up from the streetscape?

@OilGasCanada Please put this number in perspective for readers by providing Canada’s GHG emissions over those same 8 years, otherwise this could be called greenwashing.
