Trump Victory: Why & What’s Next?

It’s morning in America.

Trump is victorious.

Let’s discuss why this happened and the practical implications moving forward:

Why?

• Kamala hid from the media. When she was forced to engage, she used abstract, wordy language. Word salad.
Black and Hispanic men voted for Trump. Trump showed grit and proved himself under fire. This earns respect from any man, regardless of race.

• The economy, stupid. Inflation was high because Biden and Harris refused to drill for oil in Pennsylvania and because they killed the keystone xl pipeline. Tax cuts and energy independence worked as narratives in this environment as inflation had people concerned about their wallets.

• Crypto. Trump embraced crypto. He got the right people advising him. He released NFTs. He went to the Bitcoin conference. He built community. Crypto was an important source of funding and votes.

• Elon. Elon countered the leftist tech machine with his own war engine. Using the power of X. Using the PayPal growth strategy of paying people for voter mobilization in swing states. Elon showed that knocking on doors is archaic. Incentivized voter mobilization is the future of ground game. This makes sense as it’s a much more scalable way to buy votes.

•Our health. We have microplastics in our bodies. We are becoming sicker. RFK was key here. Through him, Trump became the candidate of health.
Trump was viral. Kamala was not. Trump worked at McDonald’s. He sat inside that garbage truck to remind us that we’re not garbage. The most viral moment for Kamala was when. Biden wore the MAGA hat. Nothing from her debate performance went viral.

• Vance. A Yale educated mind goes a long way (Boola Boola!) He destroyed Walz in the debate and exposed him as a phony “knuckle-head”:

What does this mean for crypto?

• Tokenomics will become more experimental. Bitcoin and meme coins will lose their regulatory moats. When crypto was being over-regulated, that favored projects that relied on narrative over utility. Because utility could get token creators into trouble.

• More projects will focus on token fundamentals. Token supply sinks will create a way to fight the sell pressure from unlocks. Projects will be judged on their real inflation rates when adjusting for buybacks. Real inflation = yearly supply expansion - net consumption

• Bitcoin and crypto will go up in price. This is the golden bull. Embrace it. Sell your bags to institutions. Sell your bitcoin to the US government for the right price. Get some land in a remote area with naturally flowing water. Learn to farm. Make jerky and dried fruit. I won’t do this but you can. I’m jealous.

• Ethereum may stop underperforming. Ethereum’s advantage is DeFi. Without clear mechanics for fee sharing and token buybacks, DeFi tokens could lag the wider market. Without market incentives, there’s no engaged community and no business model that can mobilize distribution. More token value means that incentives for user acquisition can increase and DeFi can start onboarding and growing again.
