Differentiation is not just about academic needs, but also relational needs. Some students may need to vent, extra support, a hug for the little ones, or even encouragement to try harder. These are as important as academic needs. Education is relational after all.

Besides trust and respect, I think teachers most want an admin who has their back. There is no more secure feeling than a leader who you know won't throw you under the bus, will defend you in public, allows you to fail safely and will support you as a professional.
