Of course it didn't. Money doesn't move polls.

Polls capture preference, and their ability to do that is debatable at this point.

What polls don't capture well at all is agency. This is different from enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is only a part of a voter's agency.

You can have highly enthusiastic people who don't vote. For whatever reason. You can have bored people who decide to vote out of inertia.

Pollsters pretend to capture that stuff, but they fail miserably.

And that's what money influences.

Money makes voters who wouldn't otherwise vote decide to vote.

At its most extreme, this manifests in ballot harvesting. But you're seeing less of that than usual.

More often, it's simply about building the infrastructure to bug low-prop voters to go vote when they otherwise might not do so.

Maybe that only matters for 3% of these guys, but that 3% matters.
