In this research, we analyzed 10,500+ AI tools between August 2024 and July 2025. Among the top 10 chatbots, Grok ranked #2 — not by bias, but by the data itself. Its meteoric rise in usage, adoption, and media attention makes this outcome no surprise.

Some key insights:

ChatGPT remains the undisputed leader, averaging ~5B monthly visits in the latest quarter.

Grok has climbed to #2 in record time — an extraordinary feat in such a competitive market.

Gemini continues its steady climb and looks like the strongest challenger ahead.

DeepSeek’s decline shows how closely media influence and user interest are connected.

As a researcher, it’s incredible to watch the AI landscape evolve at such speed. Grok’s growth story is one of the clearest signs of how fast disruption can happen.
