In 2015, BMW New Zealand pulled off one of the most successful April Fool’s Day stunts in marketing history.
The company ran an ad in the New Zealand Herald that read: “Bring your old car to Team McMillan BMW and ask for Tom. The first person to do so will get a brand-new BMW.”
Because it was April 1st, most people dismissed it as a prank.
But one woman, Tianna Marsh, decided to take a chance. She showed up at the dealership with her 15-year-old Nissan Avenir, fully expecting to be laughed at. Instead, BMW honored the advertisement and surprised her with the keys to a brand-new BMW 1 Series, worth nearly $50,000.
Her old Nissan was proudly displayed at the dealership with a sign that read “April Fool’s Day Special: Traded in for a new BMW.”
BMW later called it a “reverse prank”, rewarding the one person who dared to believe. The heartwarming story quickly went viral, reminding everyone that sometimes the biggest rewards come from taking a leap of faith.

I just had the most incredible trip of my life in South Africa. Being so close to such beautiful animals in their natural habitat, between Kruger Park and Sabi Sands, was something I can barely put into words. It was truly unforgettable...one of those experiences that stays with you forever
Today, India takes a defining step in its civil nuclear journey, advancing the second stage of its nuclear programme.
The indigenously designed and built Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor at Kalpakkam has attained criticality.
This advanced reactor, capable of producing more fuel than it consumes, reflects the depth of our scientific capability and the strength of our engineering enterprise. It is a decisive step towards harnessing our vast thorium reserves in the third stage of the programme.
A proud moment for India. Congratulations to our scientists and engineers.
Just blows my 🤯 that in the last few weeks @Airbound_Aero has delivered 700+ samples for @NarayanaHealth, one of India's largest hospital networks. ETA down from 1.5hrs to <4mins. Zero crashes. Revolutionary. The asymptote to 1M+ deliveries has started.
India edges out as the hardest for self-driving cars. Chaotic, rule-free traffic mixes cars, bikes, autos, pedestrians, and stray animals with zero lane discipline, faded markings, sudden maneuvers via honks/gestures, potholes, and monsoons. It's the ultimate edge-case testbed—if AI masters that, everywhere else is easy. China’s dense but more structured; India’s pure unpredictability wins.
The most underrated act of kindness is simply letting people be. Let them mispronounce a word, talk too much about a show they love, or get excited about something you don't quite understand. Everyone has something that lights them up, let them shine, even if it's not your thing.
One of my favorite quotes is the one from Marcus Aurelius: ‘The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts.’
I think it’s always good to remember it.
Believe it or not, aluminum reflects Wi-Fi waves, so placing foil behind your router can help direct more signal toward the areas you want it to go, instead of letting it spread evenly in all directions.
