#Benagluru | A video recorded yesterday in the DRDO Phase II Township allegedly shows personnel from the EMU catching stray dogs inside the campus, prompting strong objections from animal activists and local residents. According to those present, the dogs were being removed in a forceful manner, and activists intervened to stop the operation and release the animals.

Activists claim that the dogs were being treated cruelly, with one dog — a feeding mother — reportedly beaten with a stick during the incident. They said they managed to free the dogs after confronting the individuals involved. The group also alleged that around 22 dogs were similarly removed from the township last week, but when questioned, the authorities denied carrying out such actions.

Following the incident, an email complaint along with the video footage has been sent to Maneka Gandhi seeking intervention. Activists are also urging others to write to her and share the video in order to build pressure and seek legal action against those responsible for the alleged mistreatment of the stray dogs.
