They are in shelter in first place because of the said act. Once the girl and perpetrators are presented before court, the onus of justice lies with the court not the government or LEAs. The very fact that trials are held is a testament that Govt. is at work!

I have plenty of cases that prove this act doesn't apply to them. The recent incident: Chanda Maharaj, medical report established a girl was a minor but what happened? She is in shelter home. Three days ago Urmila, 13, was abducted from Karachi. Where is act?

That’s factually wrong. Sindh's CMR Act is only law in 🇵🇰 that crimalizes marriage b4 18 & is applicable to everyone, including non-muslims.
It’s the most imp legal framework to help w/ underage marriage after conversion w/ rules emphasizing on children belonging to other faiths.

No words to condemn the brutal murder of Daya Bheel. Spoke to authorities & local leadership. The Bheel community in Dipti village of Sinjoro is very close-knit with almost zero involvement of outsiders. FIR has been registered but the family suspects no one yet.
