Rare visit by India’s defence minister to immediate neighbourhood. Parrikar’s trip to Dhaka (2016) marked a turning point.
Defence exports a growing interest (including the first LoC experiment).

At the peak of Nirbhaya protests in December 2012, then Chief Justice of India late Altamas Kabir and a sitting Supreme Court lady judge Gyan Sudha Misra had given rare public statements condemning the use of force against protestors and had supported the youth who had come out to register their anguish.
Late Justice Kabir had gone to the extent of saying that he wanted to join the protests, but his position prevented him from doing so.
Justice Misra had said she was breaking the judges self-imposed code of silence since rare situations demanded extraordinary responses.
Compare it to the current students agitation, not only has the Judiciary lowered its esteem in the eyes of the country's citizens by its judicial actions, but public utterances of lordships are irreparably damaging the institution.

The same University that is fighting a legal battle to hide the identity of its most illustrious student!
Some of India’s biggest “superstars” have shown their feet of clay. Issuing generic statements like “all children are good, may there be peace on earth” blah blah. They aren’t able to call out the police brutality against young people, let alone come and stand with them in this fight.

Equal opportunity needs to start from gully cricket, local parks, those zero and games periods in schools, every local tournament, every locality, every academy - that’s what what’ll achieve the true purpose of this monumental victory #ICCWomensWorldCup2025
I remember the 2017 women World Cup final loss for India. People barely knew about it. So from that -to now everybody celebrating yesterday’s semi final, it feels like the biggest win of all time!!!
