In appears, Chantay Black, a character who was originally a member of Darcy, Danny, and Peter’s class, and then was randomly put into Holly J’s class in S8.

Because of this, for the past 22 years and counting, Degrassi fans make stupid and unproductive jokes about her being on the show too long when the real criticism should be that despite her being on the show for seven seasons, she only had two storylines developing her character. The writers had her on the show just to be the token black friend, just like with Hazel, Marisol, S14 Shay, and even Liberty to a lesser degree.
