Pete Crow-Armstrong of the @Cubs is one of three players in MLB history to have a month with:
.375+ batting average
.775+ slugging pct
80+ total bases
15+ walks
10+ home runs
5+ stolen bases
The others are Babe Ruth (June 1920, July 1920, May 1930) and Lou Gehrig (June 1930).
Free agency is here and, right now, my TL is all LeBron, all day. Where's he going, what are the Warriors doing, etc. That's fine. He's LJ. I get it! But I'll tell you what I'm actually watching, and it isn't LJ and marquee guys. It's the OGs.
Don't get me wrong, I love this young NBA. These kids are so skilled it's almost unfair, and athletic in a way that's crazy. Different game now. A better one in a lot of ways, and I mean that.
Here's my thing, though. When I came into the league I didn't know anything, not really, and it was the vets who raised me. Guys like Ervin Johnson and Lindsey Hunter and Ray Allen taught me how to carry myself, how to be a pro on the nights nobody's watching. Taught me about money. Shoot, taught me about golf, about how to be a man. I needed that. Most of these young guys need it too, whether they know it yet or not.
So yeah. Harrison Barnes going back to San Antonio, that one was obvious. Russell Westbrook getting tied to DC? I love it for AJ Dybantsa and them. And if you've got a young roster you're trying to grow, you have to call a Khris Middleton or a Mike Conley. Get somebody in that locker room who's seen it, lived it, and can pass on that knowledge.
They can still give you minutes, sure. But that's not really why you sign them. You bring them in for the kid who's got all the talent in the world and no idea what to do with it yet. The vet pulls him aside when the coaches can't. Shows him the little things nobody teaches you in college. Shows him how to play the game, but also live the life.
Each one teach one. That's how it used to worked in the NBA. Let's make sure the young guys get that same guidance.
This is how bad I-55 sucks!
The drive back to Chicago from Plainfield at 4pm is an hour and 10 minutes to go 39 miles.
But, if i take 355, to 80, to 57, to the Dan Ryan (57 miles) it is also an hour and 10 minutes.
@haddychi Good time to share my favorite stat: Prime Hawks were 32-8 in games 5-7 (all rounds). 80% in the biggest games against the best teams. Absolutely insane how clutch that those teams were.

One of the greatest playoff performers the league has ever seen 🎬
Home time. The USA have been fantastic hosts! We’ve loved the welcome from every city and state we’ve been in 🇺🇸

This is unbelievable.
Note to my old friends in Bulls PR -- this is a good move. Letting fans get to know your new coach and your new front office is a good thing. Don't let it stop now.
Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu just secured a combined $184 million. Both their teams traded away All-Stars to make room for re-signing them.
But AKME couldn’t get a first round pick.
That, my friends, is why the Bulls have a new front office.
Today in 1984, the best second baseman in baseball took the best closer in baseball deep in consecutive innings on national television. I hope Ryno and Bruce Sutter are hanging out today in heaven having more fun than any of us sharing stories.
Having the No. 4 overall pick and NOT finally getting Connor Bedard a legitimate winger — either through the draft or through a trade — would be a colossal failure. Just colossal.
How does a guy who:
-Non Tendered Kyle Schwarber
- Has never finished ahead of the Brewers in a full season as POBO
- Since 2021 is a combined 67 games behind the Milwaukee Brewers
How does that guy keep his job and get Zero Heat from the Chicago media
