Bitcoin cold-wallet attack spreads to 4,500 addresses as losses near $89 million
Galaxy Research flagged a third wave of sweeps tied to weak Coldcard-generated keys, with the attacker now targeting smaller balances and changing how funds are collected onchain.

A guy calls his broker & starts buying egg futures.
He buys at 1000 contracts @ $1.
The next week, he buys more at $2.
He keeps coming back and buying more and more eggs at $3, $4, $5, $10.
He thinks he's a genius.
When eggs hit $20, he decides it’s time to cash in
He calls his broker. Tells him he's ready to sell.
The broker said: "To who? You're the egg guy"
Let me get this straight—
there’s a fire at an Abqaiq pumping station, fire at Jazan refinery, marine traffic through Bab el Mandeb at a standstill bc Lloyd’s won’t insure anyone, Kazakhstan oil loadings are cut in half, nothing is moving in SoH
— but oil is down $10
Kimi's CEO Zhilin Yang:
"OpenAI, Google, everyone just kept scaling data. that
game is over - we ran out of internet."
here's the shift he's betting on:
→ scaling data hit a wall - the high-quality internet is basically used up
→ O1 opened a new axis: scale the thinking at inference, not just the training data
→ his bet: the training-to-reasoning ratio flips, and that's where the next startups win

Bret Weinstein said something that won’t leave my head:
For the first time in 300,000 years of human evolution, we removed the cost from the single biggest reward nature ever invented — sex and pair-bonding.
Reliable birth control + abortion = you can now cash the evolutionary lottery ticket without paying the 20-year mortgage of pregnancy, diapers, sleepless nights, and college funds.
Result? An entire generation of 18–35-year-olds walking around with the energy, libido, hormones, and protective instincts that evolution spent millions of years calibrating for child-rearing… but with zero actual children. That energy didn’t disappear. It got redirected.
Heather Heying’s observation is brutal: young women especially began treating ideologies the exact way evolution wired them to treat babies. Climate change, social justice, whatever the cause of the month is — it gets defended with literal mama-bear ferocity, the same neurochemistry that once guarded a toddler from predators now guards an abstract idea from wrong think.
And now Elon is promising the second shoe is about to drop: AI-driven abundance will make money as “free” as sex became in the 1970s. Both of evolution’s primary carrots — mating and resource acquisition suddenly cost almost nothing.
Weinstein’s ice-cold question: When producing and protecting actual children is no longer the central organizing principle of adult life… and when creating wealth is no longer required for status, security, or attracting a mate…What is left to give a human life direction, meaning, and structure?
Are we about to become a species that invents bigger and bigger dragons to slay just to feel alive? Or do we drift into total listlessness? This 3:52 clip is genuinely haunting.
Watch it all the way through, then tell me — honestly — does this explain the absolute intensity we’re seeing in culture right now, or is Bret completely missing something?
Real answers only. Quote-post if it hits you in the chest like it hit me.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz invoking the "Plaza Accord" against China is a massive, telling Freudian slip
It’s a brazen admission that the 1985 agreement was an imperialist project designed to kneecap Japan’s economy because the West simply couldn’t compete fairly
Now, Germany and the EU harbor the insane delusion that they can win a trade war against China—a war the US just spectacularly lost
Instead of working with China to deliver actual prosperity for their own citizens, European leaders would rather sacrifice their economies on the altar of neoliberal decoupling. They are choosing economic suicide just for a fleeting hope of restoring their lost imperial power and influence. Pure, suicidal nostalgia 🤡

Fwiw, this is one of the first GPUs from a homegrown firm so the "It's as good as a RTX 4060" line has some caveats.
While it can hit 56fps in Wukong, the 4060 can double that easily. The primary issues right now are feature parity (no ray tracing), software optimization, pricing and driver maturity.
The ability to design a functional GPU to this level is extremely impressive though, and the Chinese government is heavily subsidizing homegrown alternatives.
Whether these firms can do to GPUs what China did with electric cars remains to be seen.
