Destroying a Hindu deity’s statue under the pretext of a border dispute is unacceptable. Whether placed by Cambodia or not, attacking faith and heritage only exposes intolerance.
Both Thailand and Cambodia are Buddhist nations, yet history records repeated persecution of Hindu temples and attempts to erase them. Violence against sacred symbols cannot be whitewashed with slogans. No religion proves its “peace” by destroying another’s faith.

On the afternoon of September 17, 2025, Thai soldiers armed with shields, batons, and weapons continued their incursions into Cambodia by firing tear gas, rubber bullets, and using sound-disrupting devices that damaged hearing, targeting Cambodian civilians in Prey Chan village, O’ Bei Choan commune, Ou Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province. These actions caused injuries to several civilians, including Buddhist monks. I don’t care what side of the fence you are on. Live in Thailand or Cambodia. He said she said rhetoric aside, how is this healthy for a ceasefire? It’s been reported that it’s the Commander’s “retirement” plan to take back disputed territory within his 50-day window, effectively reneging on the ceasefire BOTH countries agreed to.

Someone explain to me how this is helpful to maintain peace between both countries.
