At present, the foreign population legally working in the United States through mainstream nonimmigrant visas has already formed an employment stock of more than one million. Among them, the core group of H-1B visa holders totals about 750,000, and these people are mostly concentrated in professional fields such as technology, engineering, and healthcare, forming the core component of the U.S. foreign skilled workforce. In addition, about 200,000 H-4 visa holders have also obtained legal work authorization. This group consists mostly of spouses of H-1B holders, and in recent years they have also entered the workforce in large numbers, covering all kinds of positions from ordinary administrative roles to technical ones.
Beyond that, the number of international graduates staying in the United States to work through the OPT program has also reached about 400,000. This group consists mostly of international students who have just graduated from U.S. universities. They use the OPT transition period to accumulate work experience at American companies, and the vast majority of them will subsequently participate in the H-1B visa lottery, completing the transition from student status to formal work status.
Added together, the total scale of these three groups has already exceeded 1.3 million. This figure means that in the U.S. domestic job market, more than 1.3 million professional and technical positions are occupied by foreign nationals holding nonimmigrant visas, and in some popular industries, the proportion of such positions is even higher. Many observers argue that these positions could originally have been opened to American workers, which is equivalent to more than 1.3 million American jobs being diverted away from domestic workers, directly intensifying the employment competition pressure on domestic job seekers in certain fields.
Brothers, don't foolishly pour all your energy into scraping together bride price, booking a hotel, and taking wedding photos. No matter how glamorous those things are, they are not as real as one deep kiss with your partner before marriage. I have seen too many couples whose weddings were held magnificently, yet after marriage, even lying on the same bed made them feel awkward. The root cause is that they never confirmed each other's level of acceptance before marriage. Don't tell me "intimacy doesn't matter, as long as we can just get by together." In a marriage of several decades, if even the most basic closeness feels awkward, the days simply cannot be endured.
