Yesterday at work we were talking about how many social service orgs require (or really push) abstinence-based recovery to access services.
A leader at my org said "of course, we all want recovery for our folks" to which I said "well no, actually, I don't." (A thread 🧵)
#SOWK330661681Debate I do agree with you, but if a parent is seen as racist in today’s society- the children are automatically assumed to be the same due to the shadows children live under with their parents.
this is an interesting article. i feel parents are against CRT bc THEY don’t wanna be previewed as racist, not necessarily their kids #SOWK330661681Debate
@Lauren_raff00#SOWK330661681Debate Children do often mimic their parents behaviors. I feel as if our Society keeps evolving how it is currently, to being inclusive and treating all people the same regardless of race, gender, etc
#SOWK330661681Debate We should not have CRT because yes the US does a have history and there are fears of history repeating itself, the only thing CRT will teach our children/future children of school age is that they can only look at the world through a lens of race.

we still have 10 minutes on CRT so far I have heard only a few strong pros and cons Let's where why we should have CRT and back up your responses
#SOWK330661681Debate There is a way to teach equality and inclusion without shoving it in people’s faces and pushing people to see society through one specific lens.
@professoranne#SOWK330661681Debate
I’m against CRT due to the lens it is trying to force people to look through. The world is seen through many factors, but CRT is pushing people to view society through a strict racism, sexism and power lens.

“CRT is a pernicious way of viewing the world. It demands that everything in society be viewed through a lens of racism, sexism, and power.” When there are so many more ways to view the world.
