Today marks Nakba Day, an annual day of remembrance to commemorate the expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinians between 1947 and 1949 during the creation of the State of Israel and the year that followed.
Inea is a New Yorker and a Nakba survivor. She shared her story with us — one of home, tradition and memory over generations.
In addition to many other forms of liberation Iran stands for right now, we should thank it for reintroducing us to what actual powerful masculinity looks and sounds like: no tattoos, no unnatural muscularity, no testosterone injections, no artificial hair and plastic surgery, no fake poses and mantras and no affected 'alpha male' garbage. Only the real thing, and none of its tedious imitations.
It is really funny how the West prides itself on understanding gender, when really it has no idea: both its male and female archetypes are caricatures
NEW: NHS England is being called on to cancel its contract with US spytech firm Palantir due to ‘serious risks’ to the NHS - including irreparable reputational damage and the permanent undermining of public trust.
Woah, “Iranian girls left for school and did not return home” - but why? What happened? Did they just run away? Were they abducted by aliens? Are they alive or dead? Who harmed them?
And “the parents in Gaza buried their children beneath the rubble of their classrooms”?! Wth! Why? Were they buried alive?! And if they were dead, who killed them? The parents?
Strange, because when it comes to Afghan girls you are so clear about who their enemy is. It’s so easy for you to point to the Taliban as villains in the stories of these girls, but who’s the enemy, who are the villains in the just as important stories of these Iranian and Palestinian girls?
The “hard truth” is actually this: you know very well that US-Israeli strikes killed these 168 Iranian girls in their school.
And that Israel has murdered hundreds of thousands of Palestinian children.
But you can’t even name, let alone villainise the US - your paymaster, and Israel - it’s arm in the “ME”.
Besides, you literally manufactured consent for these strikes with your “free Iranian girls” propaganda tweets.
So this was just a job well-done and well-paid, as far as you’re concerned.
But now you are being forced to say something because of your undeserved role as some global ambassador for women and girls.
People, I’m telling you, this woman becomes more and more irrelevant as a peace ambassador and more and more complicit in imperialist war crimes with each passing day. Please stop falling for this shit.
Diaspora Iranians watched the U.S. and Israel collapse a society and decimate the whole of Gaza and all of its history and infrastructure, and thought they would be the exception. The delusional arrogance and hubris is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. You invited these devils in.
This is the moment when Trump and his criminal military force slaughtered 168 elementary schoolchildren, along with two dozen of their teachers and school staff.
War crimes committed by the American and Israeli regimes against Iran, for which they must urgently be held accountable:
🔹Attacks on Tehran’s oil storage facilities, causing toxic acid rain and creating a grave hazard for tens of millions of civilians.
🔹The attack on a freshwater desalination plant on Qeshm Island, cutting off the water supply to 30 villages.
🔹The massacre of 165 schoolgirls in a targeted attack on an elementary school in the city of Minab.
🔹Persistent strikes on residential areas in Tehran and other major cities. In at least two documented instances, "double-tap" strikes were conducted, hitting the same location shortly after rescue teams had begun saving lives.
🔹Deliberate attacks on hospitals in Tehran and across Iran.
🔹The attack on an unarmed Iranian naval vessel returning from an international naval gathering in India. Of the 130 sailors on board, 87 were killed—an act for which the US Secretary of War took credit, stating they "died a quiet death."
Can't get over the IDF killing 15 paramedics in Rafah, attempting to
bury them and their ambulance, claiming they were "terrorists" and then shooting to kill the rescue team sent in to find their missing friends. Not surprised, just stuck. Can't seem to move on from here.
Too many people think that the lesson of the holocaust was that Nazis were uniquely bad, when the real lesson was that it is very easy to turn people into Nazis
I'm gonna explain to y'all why Britain considers 78°F/25°C hot. I know hot because I grew up in Texas and spent half my life in Las Vegas. So I am absolutely qualified to explain this to the rest of you who laugh at UK "heat waves".
I’ve seen groups of students learn skills like working with press, issuing statements, polling participants, compiling data , bargaining and using social media to disseminate information. (7/10)
