18 साल के बाद आखिरकार राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू के हस्ताक्षर से कल आईएएस IAS पद्मा जायसवाल को नौकरी से बर्खास्त कर दिया गया।

इन्हें नौकरी से हटाने के लिए सरकार को बहुत पापड़ बेलने पड़े।

साल 2008 से ही इन्हें हटाने की कोशिशें चल रही थीं जो आखिरकार 18 साल बाद मुकाम पर पहुंचीं।

यह मामला 2007-2008 का है, जब वह अरुणाचल प्रदेश के पश्चिम कामेंग जिले में DC के पद पर तैनात थीं।

फरवरी 2008 में वहां के स्थानीय निवासियों ने शिकायत दर्ज कराई कि वह अपने पद का गलत इस्तेमाल कर रही हैं।

जांच में सामने आया कि उन्होंने अपने पद का दुरुपयोग कर सरकारी खजाने से ₹28 लाख रुपये का गबन किया

इस पैसे से अपने रिश्तेदारों के नाम पर संपत्तियां खरीदीं।

जनता की शिकायत के बाद उन्हें अप्रैल 2008 में निलंबित किया गया था,

लेकिन अक्टूबर 2010 में बहाल कर दिया गया।

इसके बाद अखिल भारतीय सेवा नियमों के तहत उनके खिलाफ लंबी विभागीय जांच चली।

CAT के एक फैसले के कारण केंद्र की कार्रवाई रुकी हुई थी,

लेकिन दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय ने CAT के आदेश को पलटते हुए DOPT को जांच और बर्खास्तगी की अंतिम अनुमति दे दी।
