It was an incredible honor to help cut the ribbon on Sacramento’s first “Veteran’s Park” today in the Heritage Park community.

I was proud to support and help fund this project. I am the daughter of a decorated Air Force Sgt and Vietnam Veteran. He would have loved to be there today.

Brought him a piece of the ribbon. 💙

Warning ⚠️ this is a boastful post about an amazing member of our team!!

Please join me in congratulating Bhawan Cheema on her promotion to Senate Floor Consultant.

I know the titles don’t explain much - but as Majority Leader I get to select a team member to help me run the Senate floor (agendas, floor sessions and schedules).

It was an easy choice. Bhawan has been with me since my days at City Hall. She is a utility player. She can do everything from start up a new community Farmers Market to planning the best way to move forward a complicated package of legislation.

I know she will serve the State of California with the same level of excellence and integrity I have grown accustomed to seeing from her for many years.

We are fortunate to have her on the team and California is blessed to have her dedication and intellect helping to advance the work of the State Senate.

We are both extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve.

Please help me congratulate Bhawan on her big promotion.

Atiksh had amazing time at @JibeWithUs Bike Camp. It was perfect blend of fun, learning, outdoor adventure. He learned invaluable skills: changing flat tire, cleaning bike chain, and loading bikes onto bus. It was wonderful seeing him excited about biking, safety, staying active!
