We should have reclaimed the name ‘Bharat’ when the British left our shores. A name will not do everything but it is important the country is named in a way that reverberates in everyone’s heart. Even though the Nation means everything to us, the word ‘India’ has no meaning. If we are unable or unwilling to change the name of the Nation officially, it is time we at least bring ‘Bharat’ into our daily parlance. Younger generations must know that Bharat existed long before India was born. Congratulations @ncert. -Sg

Gender is fast becoming an irrelevant parameter in evaluating and rewarding merit & competence- and rightly so. The blossoming of human potential must not be held hostage to gender. To build a truly great society and Nation, it is imperative that our girls find equal access to opportunities that will enable them to realize their full potential. -Sg #NationalGirlChildDay
Just as a healthy Foundation is integral to a strong and sustainable structure, healthy Soil is integral to the integrity and cohesiveness of the planet. For the very first time, Soil–which is the Foundation of Life on this planet– is moving toward centerstage in the ecological narrative. How quickly & how effectively we Act to restore soil health could well determine the perpetuity or otherwise of the human race. -Sg

As we celebrate World Soil Day, we reflect on Cauvery Calling—a monumental endeavor that has reshaped landscapes and lives. With 93 million living trees planted🌳183,000 farmers empowered, and ecosystems rejuvenated, it's a testament to the power of ecological initiatives. Mooted by @SadhguruJV , this movement aims to revive Cauvery by enabling 5.2 million farmers to plant 2.42 billion trees through innovative tree-based agriculture. 🌳💧

🌍 On #WorldSoilDay, let's dig into a crucial link between soil health and our changing climate. Why the surge in floods here, while droughts plague there? It's a tale of rainfall patterns affected by climate change. But there's hope in soil! By enriching it, we not only aid in cooling our planet but also create a shield against extreme weather impacts.
Healthy soil = less flooding (it absorbs more!) + fewer droughts (retains water longer!). Join us in taking action to safeguard our soil, our planet's lifeline. Action now https://t.co/uVnQCIZBeZ!

In just 50 years, we might face a critical shortage of soil to grow food for the world. Modern agriculture, with its heavy machinery and chemical inputs, is wearing down soil. The solution? Regenerative agriculture – a method focused on revitalizing soil health.
Regenerative growers work like stewards of the land, reaping a range of benefits. They produce food, capture carbon, conserve water, and grow healthier crops without relying on synthetic inputs – all while ensuring the long-term vitality of the land. This approach promises a thriving, resilient Earth for generations to come.

As part of creating a Swachh Bharat, volunteers from the Isha Yoga Center visited villages around the Center on October 1 to clean up, and also spread awareness among the villagers about the importance of keeping our surroundings clean and hygienic.
Swachh Bharat or "Clean India" in English, is an effort by the government, civil society organizations and concerned citizens to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the nation, through awareness sessions, voluntary cleaning activities and other initiatives.

Thank you, @ISPRA_Press - Institute for Environmental Protection and Research, for hosting us at the European Researchers' Night in Rome. ISPRA researchers and the enthusiastic participation of both young and seasoned Earth Buddies guided participants as they delved into the fascinating theme of “The World Hidden in the Ground.”
The event featured engaging activities such as identifying the diverse organisms inhabiting the soil, exploring the intricacies of the nitrogen cycle by playing with atoms and molecules, an entertaining soil quiz, and much more!
We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to @ass_dragolago , their young representatives, and @PftP_italy for their invaluable collaboration.

On the second day of the #Soils4Med launch meeting, we visited a Vertisol in northwest Sardinia. This soil is well structured and rich in organic content (around 3%), which makes it suitable for crops such as olives and cereals, or for pasture under conservative soil practices and no-tillage. We are also learning about soils and coastal dynamics. In the background, the azure Mediterranean Sea provides a stunning vista for our research.
