With deep sorrow, CISF salutes the supreme sacrifice of HC/GD M.K. Biswal, HC/GD Anand Kumar and CT/GD Sanjay Kumar Murmu, who laid down their lives while saving the public during rescue operations at Chisoti, Kishtwar (J&K) on 14.08.2025.

When tragedy struck, CISF personnel first responded and quickly alerted pilgrims about the rising river water and the rushing mudslide with boulders. They helped pilgrims move to safer areas.

Even after sustaining injuries, their fellow soldiers continued the rescue efforts and saved the lives of many trapped pilgrims. In the rescue operations three brave personnel made the ultimate sacrifice at the altar of duty.

CISF officers and personnel honored them with full ceremonial tributes at their native places. Their selfless service and unwavering spirit of duty will always remain etched in our hearts.

We stand firmly with the grieving families during this difficult time.

Why only hindu sanyasis ( monks) face this kind of social humiliation and prejudice. Just few years ago two sadhus were stoned to death in Maharashtra just because they were sadhus, now these two brahmacharini are questioned and judged for their choices and its been a decade since they are trying to explain why they chose the path of sanyas but it seems no one wants to listen to them. I am so sorry that as women you both have to go through so much public scrutiny, humiliation and judgement for your choices. It shouldn’t be like this I am so sorry 🙏
